Bullying

I remember when I was in elementary school I used to make fun of all the obese kids. I used to pull their pants down and they started to cry and complain to teachers, so I got into trouble a lot of times. I did not stop even I got into trouble. I used to steal their luches or lunch money. I was very mischeavous that time. I was not only mean to the obese kids at school but also to my younger brother at my home. Whenever he got infront of computer or televsion I used to yell at him and make him cry and then I took the computer or television to myself.

Now when I think what I had done back then I feel like an idiot who doesn't have any life and just try to mess with defenseless people. I really feel those kids pain of hunger when they could not have their lunch.

I think people like Doodle's brother should accept the way other people are and be a grwon up. People cannot change the way god made them. People like doodle's brother should respect others. I mean love everyone, who knows one day maybe he can help you when you need help.

Summarizing "The Alchemist"

"The Alchemist" written by Paulo Coelho is a action-adventure book. It's a story about a boy named Santiago, a young shepherd from the Spanish countryside of Andalusia , has a dream that reveals the location of a hidden treasure buried at the Egyptian Pyramids his simple life is suddenly torn in two. Part of him wants to take the chance to go searching for it and the other part of him wants to continue his easy life as a shepherd.

A mysterious king named the king of Salem in Tarifa convinces Santiago that he has succeeded in discovering his Personal Legend. The old king tells Santiago that following his Personal Legend to its conclusion is a person’s only real obligation in life.

Santiago listens to his heart and decides to go on a dangerous search for the treasure. He sells his flock of sheep and heads to Africa, where he is quickly robbed of all his gold and left hopeless on the streets. He decides that he was foolish to believe in his dreams and quickly gets a job with a crystal merchant in order to save up enough money to go back home.

After almost a year working for the merchant, Santiago has made a success of the shop and has plenty of money to do whatever he wants. As he’s walking the streets to go back home he suddenly decides to take a chance and continue his search for the buried treasure.

He joins a caravan to make the dangerous crossing across the desert and as he rides the long, slow days away he begins to listen to his heart and to the desert. He begins to understand what the Soul of the World is, and how he fits in.

When the caravan makes it to the oasis, Santiago meets a girl he falls in love with the moment he sees her. The local alchemist, a mysterious man who reminds Santiago of the old king, helps Santiago continue his journey across the desert and teaches him more important life lessons along the way. Although Santiago does not know it, he is becoming wise, and a master in the art of living to the fullest no matter what.

After many adventures, dangers, and important life lessons Santiago finally reaches the Pyramids. His joy at finally being at journey’s end overwhelms him, and he is grateful that he got the chance to follow his dream.

He begins to dig deep into the sand looking for treasure, but before he can get far a pack of thieves shows up, beating and robbing him. They force him to continue digging, and then leave when no treasure is found. One of the thieves, as destiny would have it, tells Santiago an important clue and when they’re gone Santiago can’t help but laugh, because now he knows where his treasure truly lies.

It ends up being right back where his journey began, under the very tree where he had the prophetic dream years before. He digs and finds a beautiful chest full of gold and gems. His next and last journey will be back to the desert to be reunited with the woman he loves.

I think everyone should read this book because life is worthless without someone knowing their own personal legend. This book changed the way I looked at my life.

Today I am thinking about all the time that I had wasted before. When I look back in past I think like I should had done more, for example I could had studied more, be more nice to people and my parents. I feel like crying when I think about this. I am also thinking about my girlfriend who is thousand miles away from me studying mass communications in Sydney, Australia.I am also thinking about the friends that I grew up with. I remember the days when we went to school together and played together. We used to sit by the beach and tell stories about what we did throught the day. I am also thinking about the first day when I learned to swim. I remember that my dad left me in the middle of lake, I was screaming and struggling in water, but my dad told me to relax which I did and found myself floating in water. I am also thinking about what to cook for my Cousins who are coming over from London at Saturday and where to take them out, I haven't seen them for a year.I am also thinking of the day I am going to graduate,it feels like these two years in United States just passed by in a second.

Torture And Execution

In Shakespeare's time, there were lots of execution types in England. It was basically done to put fear in common people to show what the outcome can be for treason, stealing and other crimes. There were many kinds of punishment. For example if you drink in the weekend you will be put in public torture and people can throw vegetables, dead animals which can lead to injuries. Other serious punisments are from treason or conspiracy. Some of the methods were very painful and inflicting pain for minutes before killing. One example of this is drawing and quartering. In this type of method the person is first stretched by all hands and feet by horses, then his internal body parts are slowly taken out infront of him without killing him. Then after he is dead all is limbs are cut off then his body is quartered into four pieces.

I think corporal and capital punishment work because people will think twice before commiting any crime or they will suffer the consequences for their actions.

Best Scene Of Odysseus

The best scene I liked was the part where Odysseus started to kill all the suitors. The characters that were involved in this scene was Odysseus, Telamechas , the suitors and few other friends of Odysseus. It was the scene right after Odysseus passed the test of shotting an arrow through 12 arrows.

I liked the scene because in this scene how strong Odysseus and Telemechas are. They killed hundred of suitors like it is drinking water for them. It makes me feel happy because I would had done the same if I was on his shoes. Those suitors were trying to steal his world from him.

My neighbourhood is very quiet. The people in there are mostly of middle class. I see people go outside on weekends and enjoy time with their family. I just moved there like two years ago and I think its pretty safe. It has a grocery store on the corner, a wal mart 5 mins walk from my place, and I live close to the bus stand too for easy transport.

I think its worth fighting for because I got my family in there and for the last two years I had been safe in there. The neighbours are good and helping too.

I think we should always keep our neighbour safe because we live there with your family and we should be grateful of where we live at.
